Room had a charming medieval vibe, and the breakfast spread was just right-everything a traveler could want. Staff were friendly as a summer day, always ready to help. The only hiccup was that the heating was good. Mornin' coffee was a delight!

bathroom was new and good, clean venue. reception was very nice but the charm almost ended there. staff is kind but not very helpful.
The hotel has a medieval look but not so much on purpose as it is on the decline. The feeling of old was not pleasant but it is old because of the wear and tear. The horrible pillows. Wifi connects if your phone likes it: my husband with his Android connected at first even without password but my Android couldn't connect after dozens of attempts and not even changing several times the ticket with credentials. During breakfast we found ants on the table with the dishes where the breakfast buffet was placed. These ants then moved to my plate with the food, which proves that they were also in the food. So if you don't like an omelette with extra protein, forget the omelette and also the sausage. We had the room on the second floor and all night long some machine was buzzing, it wasn't a horrible noise but if you are a light sleeper, it was enough to take it away.

specifically the reception. That's where I heard about the construction process on their 50th anniversary. Greetings to the cleaning staff, charm and great patience. tender croissants, everything in order. mattress. I liked everything, floor, walls, furniture and where they brought it from. That ceramic and wood floor, it's art. It was made with desire, passion, honesty. Fascinating history of its construction. Its proximity to everything I like, railway museum, train tracks, direct exit to investigate, photograph, visit the lake of Carucedo, is wonderful.
The lucky wiffi... a waiter who had to be called constantly to attend even from reception, first the cold coffee and then burned, Esther, from reception facilitated everything, to solve immediately anything that is scarce today in any star. The mattress, is the only thing that could not spend more than one night. I suppose there are better ones in some rooms. Seriously, sleeping well is fundamental. You sleep on mattresses, not with art. And well, it was funny how on the page every few hours, something I've never seen, and I've been doing it for years.

Loved the unique medieval vibe and clean, comfy rooms! Super nice team. Breakfast was simple but enough to kickstart my day. Only downside was that the air conditioning leaked a bit, but the overall experience was enjoyable!

Location is good. You can park easily next to the hotel.
Not a new hotel or modern.

staff is young and very attentive. people at the reception desk always have a smile on their faces. restaurant waiter, crack: very friendly and not at all interested. They gave me dessert even though my menu didn't include it. food, delicious. bed, narrow, very comfortable. bathroom was very good. It's very clean. quiet neighborhood. Parking in the street is not difficult. I parked twice on the same day, Saturday, less than 100 meters from the hotel.
The hotel has a medieval aesthetic, which you may or may not like, but it is very well cared for and very clean. Mind you, the lifts are from the last century, they have no memory. If you hit the 5 first and then the 2, it takes you to the 5. But the worst thing for us was a noise at night that was repeated periodically as if it were the compressor of an air conditioning system. We talked about it at the reception and, far from hiding, they told us that it was strange but that another room had already complained, just below ours. It was 219 in case anyone wanted to avoid it

This hotel is an absolute disaster. I cut my foot on the broken tiles and got a pathetic plastic bag of ice instead of a bucket. No mini bar as promised, beyond disappointing. I woudl ve been content with even a basic welcome gift for all this hassle but alas, the red carpet was missing, just like the service.

Bathroom was really nice with many small tiles and a nice bathtub.
They charge extra for wifi and the signal did not work in my room so I had to use it in the lobby, and it was slow. The restaurant did not open until 8:30--not uncommon in Spain. No way to open the window and A/C was noisy. The name of the hotel I booked was Temple Ponferrada, but the signs to the hotel throughout the city said Hotel Temple. I wasted a lot of time trying to find it.

The hotel reminds a castle, the lobby and the room it self. But no more than that. It was clean, quiet, and enough enjoyable.
For a "castle" experience, it was frustrating. Parking around the hotel was complicated, and more than 10Euros for the hotel garage per day was exagerated. At the morning, the breakfast was around 8Euros, and the waiter said that in the cafeteria was cheaper. I've ordered a cheese toast, a coffee and an orange juice and I payed 7.5Euros. Completely disapointed with the waiter support and breakfast quality.

Restaurant was nice to have. Decor was nice in the common areas.
Room A/C was substandard. Hotel plumbing was noisy and bathroom had odors.

This spot was perfect after a long trip. Super clean and comfy beds. The staff were friendly. It was an easy walk from the train station. The hotel had a charming design with some cool medieval-themed decor. Great nearby shopping for last-minute Camino gear too 😊

Good location, nice staff, hotel is very nicely decorated
I just want to comment about a recommendation made to us by someone in the reception desk, about walking a ¨"wonderful" section of the camino de Santiago, "not to be missed", which turned out to be the Puerto de Piedrafita do Cebreiro and half the group almost passed out. It was pure misery, up hill 8.5 km. Please, do not recommend to a group interested in sightseeing medieval churches, cruceiros, etc. a barfing uphill cow dung filled route.

A very nice hotel, decorated to suit its historic links. Friendly and helpful staff and good food served for diner and breakfast.
